What We Do
Since 1999, Hawthorne High School’s Robotics class has competed in the FIRST National Robotics Competition. Since the involvement with FIRST, the class is continuously evolving as new technologies emerge and are added to the class curriculum. We as MetalCrafters Team 207 have gone from constructing basic wood and plastic pipe robots to designing and machining actual, professional metal robots with precise components.
With the inspiration from FIRST Robotics, the HHS Robotics Program has joined the Career Technologies classes to form an Engineering Academy based on the nationally recognized engineering curriculum, Project Lead The Way. The new curriculum is focused on manufacturing with a spotlight on building FIRST robots. As a whole, our team is always determined to better ourselves and achieve the best we possibly can.
